We offer the following services to keep your pets healthy:
Digital Radiology (Xray)
Radiology is a valuable diagnostic tool in veterinary medicine. We are pleased to offer state-of-the-art digital radiology (x-rays) services as another means of providing excellent care to our patients. A radiograph (x-ray) is a painless, safe and non-invasive type of photograph that can look inside the body and reveal information that may not be visible from the outside. We can also burn a cd copy of your radiographs so you can refer to it later.
Boarding
While your pets are with us, we will do everything we can to give them an exciting visit. If you are concerned about leaving your pet, please don’t hesitate to set up a time to visit our hospital and look around our boarding facility. We will be happy to discuss our boarding policies and answer any questions you may have.
Dental Care
Dental care is vital to the overall health of any pet. Dental disease can lead to health issues with the heart, liver, and kidneys and has the potential to seep into your pet’s bloodstream. In fact, 80 percent of dogs and 70 percent of cats over three years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, making it the most common pet health issue among our pet population.
Laser Therapy
We are proud to announce we are now offering laser therapy, an innovative new way to treat pain and inflammation in pets. Laser therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to create therapeutic effects such as improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Multiple studies have shown laser therapy can help with a variety of problems including arthritis, joint pain, ligament sprains, muscle strains, dog/cat bites, feline acne/asthma, hotspots, post trauma/surgery pain, hip dysplasia, lick granulomas and snake/bug bites.
Surgical Services
At Quiet Waters Animal Hospital, we perform a full array of surgical procedures including:
* Routine spay/neuters
* Bladder surgery for the removal of stones
*Intestinal and stomach foreign body retrieval
* Mass removals and biopsies
* Amputations
* Declawing and many more
All of our surgeries are performed in-house. This monitoring includes EKG, blood pressure, pulse oximetry (measuring blood oxygen) and temperature. We maximize safety by offering pre-anesthetic bloodwork, placing an IV catheter and administering intravenous fluids during every procedure. We tailor our anesthetic protocols for each patient based on the patient’s age, health status and medical conditions. Our patients also receive pain management protocols based on their individual needs.
Laser Surgery
We offer laser surgery as an added level of advanced surgical care. The benefits of utilizing this innovative technique include decreased pain, less swelling, less bleeding and a faster recovery time. We will continue to adopt and offer new technologies as they become available to ensure that our patients are always provided with the best available veterinary care.
Finally, in addition to our staff doctors we are fortunate to have a long relationship with an orthopedic surgical specialist. He is available to come to our hospital to perform special orthopedic procedures as well as other more complex soft tissue surgeries.
Ultrasound
Although humans and animals differ in many ways, some recent advances in human medicine are also very useful in our veterinary patients. One of these advances include diagnostic ultrasound, which has proven to be a very powerful tool in veterinary medicine. We offer diagnostic ultrasound services as a means of providing a higher level of quality care to our patients. We also have the capability to send our images directly to board certified radiologists if and when we need to.
Vaccinations
Vaccines are substances that will trigger an immune response in your pet to help it fight any infections that might arise in the future.
A vaccine stimulates the pet’s immune system to make antibodies that can identify organisms that cause disease. When your pet is immunized, it gains immunity that will prevent diseases or lessen their severity.
Typically we will give puppies and kittens shots that are spaced out about 3-4 weeks apart, with the final vaccinations being administered when the animal reaches the age of 4 months. Each animal is different and will have different vaccination requirements, which the vet will determine after an examination and consultation with you.
The Importance of Vaccinations
Did you know that it’s important to vaccinate your cat or dog at different life stages? It begins when you bring your pet puppy or kitten in for a wellness check. Some vaccines are required by law, including rabies. Most vaccinations will give your pet sufficient immunity for a few years, but others may need to be administered more frequently.
We will be happy to work out a customized schedule with our vet for immunizing your dog or cat.

Preventative Pet Wellness
At Quiet Waters Animal Hospital, we’re here to care for your pet through any sickness or emergency, but the most important service we provide is preventative pet wellness care. By giving your pet wellness exams on a regular basis, we can monitor its health and make sure it’s not developing any health problems. By keeping your pet healthy, not only will we make it harder for your pet to catch any diseases, we’ll also be able to diagnose and treat any problems that might arise, while they’re minor and easier to treat.
The Importance of Pet Exams
As your dog or cat grows older, it becomes more and more susceptible to a wide variety of diseases. That’s why it’s so important to bring your pet in for pet exams on a regular basis. Beginning in the first year of life, we’ll begin to administer vaccinations for your puppy or kitten, as well as spay or neuter them.
No matter what the age, a pet wellness examination will include a checkup for a number of health problems. Our veterinarian will include:
- Looking for problems with your pet’s teeth, gums and mouth
- Giving your pet the correct vaccinations every year
- Looking for fleas, ticks and other parasites, then administering preventative medicine against them
- Weighing and measuring your pet to make sure it’s not becoming obese, plus advice on helping you keep your pet at a healthy weight
- Checking fur and skin to look for rashes and lumps that can hide under dense pelts
- Behavioral checks to make sure your pet is socializing correctly
Pet wellness exams are important not only during a puppy or kitten’s first year of life, but during it’s entire life through its senior years. Many serious illnesses can be treated during a pet’s lifetime, but only if they’re diagnosed, and that can only happen if your pet is having regular wellness checkups.
Pets that have regular veterinary care and preventative examinations live much longer than those that aren’t cared for. They’re healthier in general, increasing their immune systems, which cuts down on the number of diseases that can affect their body. Also, if they do become sick, their veterinarian can begin to treat the illness earlier, making it much more likely that the pet will have a safe and full recovery.
Microchipping
At Quiet Waters Animal Hospital, we are happy to offer microchipping. Every year, thousands and thousands of pets go missing. Not knowing where your pet is or how to bring them back can be a helpless, hopeless feeling. It’s a tragedy that happens all too often.
But there is a simple, safe, and effective way to ensure your pet’s safety and retrieval should he or she ever become lost. Microchipping is a standard procedure that implants a tiny chip underneath your pet’s fur. It is a painless and relatively fast procedure and is completely safe.
